Son of Sitamma and Narayana Murthy; Radhakrishna Murthy was initiated into dance by his father Narayana Murthy and later continued with Chinta Venkataramayya and Vempati Venkatanarayana; adept in Kalapams (Bhamakalapam and Gollakalapam), he was admired for both the female and male characters; which include Usha and Mohini in Mohini Rukmangada and the roles of Sankara and Krishna; in the later period of his dance career he travelled far and wide of the country giving performances with Chinta vari melam. An excellent teacher, he produced students of notable standards; to mention a few, Chinta Adinarayana sarma, Anuradha jonnalagadda and Jyothirmayi.
